Community Led Mitigation of Gender Based Violence
Need
Women and girls from marginalised communities remain vulnerable to violence, exploitation, unsafe marriages, trafficking, and systemic discrimination. Social stigma and lack of institutional support often prevent survivors from seeking help.
Without strong community-based protection systems, cycles of abuse and exclusion continue across generations. Preventive interventions and community ownership are therefore essential for creating lasting social change.

Objective
This initiative aims to prevent gender-based violence, child marriage, trafficking, and exploitation.
Tools/Activities
This will be undertaken through community mobilisation, awareness campaigns, survivor support systems, and grassroots advocacy.

Intervention Strategy
The initiative works closely with local institutions, community leaders, youth groups, and law enforcement stakeholders to create safer and more inclusive environments for women and girls.
Theory of Change
If communities are sensitised around gender equality and women have access to protection systems, awareness, and support services, then harmful practices and violence against women and girls will reduce. This will strengthen dignity, safety, and social inclusion for vulnerable populations.
