RATRI CHAUPALS
RATRI CHAUPAL, Bringing Light to the Night
Most daily wage laborers and migrant workers are invisible to traditional social programs because they work from dawn until dusk. Our Ratri Chaupals (Evening Community Dialogues) solve this by bringing the conversation to them after hours. We transform common community areas into vibrant spaces for engagement, ensuring no one is left out due to their work schedules.
What Makes It Work:
Convenient Timing : Sessions held after work hours to respect the laborers' schedules.
Grassroots Leadership : Led by local Panchayati Raj (PRI) members to ensure trust and sustainability.
Edutainment : We use folk dances and puppet shows to share vital information in an engaging, culturally resonant way
Inclusive Dialogue : Open forums to discuss health, legal rights, and social welfare.
The Impact:
Empowering the Hard-to-Reach : We give voice to migrant workers and daily wage earners who are often excluded from community decision-making.
Knowledge is Dignity : By providing information on healthcare and government schemes, we empower individuals to claim their entitlements.
Cultural Connection : Using local arts helps retain information and builds a sense of community pride.
