The city of Delhi harbors pockets of slums in close proximity to affluent residential colonies, highlighting stark social disparities. Within these slums, marginalized inhabitants, predominantly migrants seeking livelihood opportunities, find themselves engaged in menial jobs. Various issues and challenges plague these communities, necessitating a holistic approach to community development that targets entire families rather than specific age groups or individuals. With a focus on sustainability, Ladli Foundation Trust devised Project SAMADHAN, leveraging their expertise and previous initiatives to create a comprehensive community development programme. Implemented from January to March 2022, this initiative aimed to establish a model project, assess its impact, and provide recommendations for replication by civil society organizations and authorities. Encompassing crime and drug prevention, women's healthcare, primary education, support for government welfare schemes, and socioeconomic sustainability, SAMADHAN addresses critical challenges and offers viable solutions.
